On the east side of the Parade Ground are four police dormitories, named from Block A to D. They are built in the same style using brick and timber. Blocks A and B were completed in 1864 in the same year as the barrack block. Both blocks occupy the same L-shaped, 3-storey structure, though the two blocks are not internally interconnected. In the beginning Block A served as the assistant superintendent’s quarters, but was later changed into briefing rooms and changing rooms. Block B used to be married quarters. Some upper level rooms featured cantilevered balconies overlooking the Parade Ground. A kitchen used to sit outside the block but was later occupied by a roofed car park.
In the 1900s, Blocks C and D were built and connected by a hanging bridge; a hanging bridge also connected blocks C and B. Block C is two-storey high and in the beginning accommodated married sergeants; later it was turned into quarters for traffic police. On the 2nd floor are cantilevered verandas surrounded by iron balustrades. On the side facing Arbuthnot Road there used to be a kitchen and armoury, but was later converted to a launderette.
Block D sits at the corner of Hollywood Road and Arbuthnot Road. It is 4 storeys high and initially accommodated single superintendents. Later it was used as a clinic. The pedestal of the block is supported by granite walls and the upper floors featured cantilevered verandas.
