Fronde, destroyer of the French Navy, sank in a typhoon during its visit to Hong Kong. The Hong Kong Cemetery has a memorial in memory of the deceased French Naval crew in the incident. (The memorial was originally in Gascoigne Road; later it was moved to Hong Kong Cemetery) .
