OBSERVATIONS |
The juk-jeung, the Clan Head, who is the oldest man in the senior surviving generation of the clan, leads the worship. Because he is elderly and rather frail, he is assisted to kneel, kowtow and stand on this occasion by the man in the white shirt. Here he waits to offer a cupful of wine, while the man beside him reads an address to the ancestor from the red paper in his hands, and another clan official bends to pick up the flask to refill the wine cup. All ritual leaders wear long ceremonial robes. |
